Callipso (callipso.dev) is operated by an individual developer (micro-entreprise) based in France. These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the Callipso desktop application, IDE extensions, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This document serves as both the Terms of Service for the Callipso platform and the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the Callipso software. By using the Service, you agree to both.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Callipso, or by subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service and must uninstall the software from all devices.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Description of Service
Callipso is a macOS desktop application that provides voice-to-terminal routing with inline destination, real-time 3D codebase visualization, and AI agent orchestration across multiple IDEs and terminal emulators. It integrates with VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Terminal.app, iTerm2, Warp, and Claude Desktop.
Callipso is a routing layer, not a command interpreter. It captures voice input via speech-to-text, parses destination commands, and sends the resulting text to a terminal exactly as transcribed. It does not interpret, validate, parse, filter, or execute commands. It does not modify the text in any way. The user is solely responsible for the content of all text routed through the Service.
3. Software License Grant
3.1 Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of all applicable fees, Callipso grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Callipso software on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.
3.2 License, Not Sale
The Callipso software is licensed, not sold. Callipso and its developer retain all right, title, and interest in and to the software, including all intellectual property rights. You acquire no ownership rights by downloading, installing, or using the software.
3.3 License Tiers
The scope of your license depends on your plan:
- Free Tier: License to use Callipso with basic features (voice routing via hotkeys F13-F15, IDE integrations, basic overlay). Valid indefinitely while you comply with these Terms.
- Pro Subscription: License to use all Callipso features, including Claude Code smart routing, Space tab visualization, task tracking, and timers. Valid for the duration of your active subscription.
- Lifetime License: License to use all current and future Pro features for the lifetime of the Callipso product, as defined in Section 7.
3.4 Number of Devices
Each license is for a single individual and may be used on an unlimited number of macOS devices owned or controlled by that individual. Concurrent use on multiple machines by the same user is permitted.
4. License Restrictions
You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:
- Copy or distribute the software, in whole or in part, to any third party.
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the software.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law (including EU Directive 2009/24/EC on the legal protection of computer programs).
- Sublicense, sell, resell, rent, lease, or lend the software or your license to any third party.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the software.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with license verification, activation mechanisms, or feature gating.
- Use the software for illegal activities or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Share, redistribute, or publicly post license keys.
- Use the software in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on Callipso's infrastructure.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person to obtain a license or subscription.
5. Free Trial
Callipso offers a 7-day free trial of Pro features. No credit card is required to start a trial.
- The trial begins when you create an account and activate the trial.
- During the trial, you have access to all Pro features.
- At the end of the trial, your account automatically reverts to the Free tier unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
- You will not be charged at the end of the trial. There is no automatic conversion to a paid subscription.
- Trial extensions may be earned through the bug bounty program or the Mention & Earn program (see Sections 11.1 and 11.4).
- One trial per individual. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials is a violation of these Terms.
6. Subscription Terms
6.1 Plans and Pricing
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Pro Monthly | $8/month | Billed monthly |
| Pro Annual | $72/year ($6/month equivalent) | Billed annually |
| Lifetime (Founding) | $149 one-time | Limited to first 50 members |

Callipso reserves the right to change prices for the Service. Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email and will take effect at the next renewal of your subscription.
6.2 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU) and Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), consumers within the European Economic Area have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 calendar days of the date of purchase, for any reason and without justification, and receive a full refund.
If you have used the Service during the withdrawal period, a prorated amount may be deducted from your refund corresponding to the period of use, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact support@callipso.dev with your purchase details.
6.3 Automatic Renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. Stripe, our payment processor, sends renewal notification emails before each charge. You may cancel automatic renewal at any time before the renewal date.
6.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation:
- Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- No further charges will be made after cancellation.
- You will not receive a prorated refund for the remaining time in your current billing period.
- After your billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free tier. No data is deleted.
7. Lifetime License Terms
7.1 Definition of "Lifetime"
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Callipso product. Your license is valid for as long as Callipso is actively developed and maintained. This is not a guarantee of perpetual service; it is a commitment that your license remains valid for the entire operational lifespan of the product.
7.2 Included Benefits
- All current and future Pro features at no additional cost.
- All future software updates and new feature releases.
- Priority support for the duration of the license.
7.3 Discontinuation Commitment
If Callipso is discontinued, your license key will continue to function offline. You will never be locked out of software you paid for. Upon discontinuation, Callipso will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 90 days advance notice.
7.4 License Scope
- Non-transferable: Lifetime licenses are tied to the purchasing individual and cannot be resold, gifted, or transferred to another person.
- Non-refundable after withdrawal period: Lifetime licenses are non-refundable after the 14-day right of withdrawal period described in Section 6.2.
- One license per individual: Each Lifetime license is for a single individual. It may be used on an unlimited number of personal machines owned by that individual.
8. License Keys
8.1 Issuance
One license key is issued per purchase. License keys are delivered to the email address associated with your purchase.
8.2 Non-Transferable
License keys are non-transferable. They are bound to the individual who made the purchase and may not be shared, sold, published, or otherwise distributed to any third party.
8.3 Revocation
Callipso reserves the right to revoke license keys without refund in the following cases:
- Sharing or publicly publishing a license key.
- Using a license key obtained through fraud, theft, or unauthorized means.
- Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute in bad faith.
- Automated or systematic abuse of the licensing system.
- Violation of the License Restrictions described in Section 4.
9. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.
9.1 No Command Validation
Callipso routes text to terminals exactly as received from speech-to-text transcription. The software does not validate, filter, interpret, sanitize, or otherwise inspect terminal commands before delivery. Users are solely and entirely responsible for all commands routed through the Service, including any commands that may result from speech-to-text transcription errors.
9.2 No Liability for Terminal Commands
Callipso, its developer, and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any damage caused by commands executed in terminals through the Service, including but not limited to:
- Data loss or corruption
- System damage or instability
- Unintended file deletions, modifications, or operations
- Security breaches resulting from executed commands
- Financial loss arising from automated or unintended operations
- Any consequences of speech-to-text misinterpretation
9.3 "As Is" Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Callipso does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Callipso does not warrant that text routed through the Service will be accurate, complete, or delivered without modification by third-party systems.
9.4 Maximum Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Callipso's total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Callipso in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
In no event shall Callipso be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, even if Callipso has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
9.5 Consumer Rights
Nothing in this section limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law. If you are a consumer within the European Union, you retain all mandatory rights granted by the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Ownership
All Callipso software, including the desktop application, IDE extensions, website, documentation, and associated components, is the exclusive property of Callipso and its developer. The software is protected by copyright laws, international copyright treaties, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
10.2 Brand and Trademarks
The Callipso name, logo, and associated branding are proprietary. These may not be used, reproduced, or distributed without prior written permission from Callipso. You may not use the Callipso name or brand in any way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without written authorization.
10.3 User Content
Callipso does not claim any ownership over text or commands routed through the Service. All content you route through Callipso remains yours. Callipso does not access, store, or transmit the content of your terminal commands.
11. Feedback & Bug Reports
11.1 Bug Bounty Program
Callipso operates a built-in bug bounty program. Users may submit bug reports through the in-app Feedback tab. When multiple users report the same issue and the bug is validated, each reporter may receive a trial extension as a reward. The specific reward amounts, validation thresholds, and program limits are configurable and may change at any time.
11.2 IP Assignment for Submissions
By submitting feedback, bug reports, feature suggestions, or any other ideas through the Service (collectively, "Submissions"), you grant Callipso a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid-up, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, incorporate, and implement your Submissions in any manner and for any purpose, without obligation of compensation, attribution, or notification to you.
You represent that your Submissions are your own original work and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
11.3 Abuse Prevention
Callipso reserves the right to impose rate limits, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans on users who abuse the bug bounty system, including submitting duplicate reports, fraudulent reports, or attempting to game the reward system.
11.4 Mention & Earn Program
Callipso offers a rewards program ("Mention & Earn") in which users may receive account credits or trial extensions for publicly mentioning Callipso on third-party platforms such as Reddit, X (Twitter), Hacker News, Bluesky, Discord, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others.
Program rules:
- Users submit a URL pointing to their mention. All claims are subject to manual review and approval by Callipso.
- Rewards are granted only after a claim is approved. The reward type depends on the user's plan: trial users receive additional trial days, monthly subscribers receive invoice credits, and annual or lifetime users receive boost credits.
- Claims are limited to 2 per day. Duplicate URLs are not accepted. Reward amounts and limits are subject to change at any time.
- Mentions may be positive, negative, or neutral. Callipso does not require favorable sentiment. Rewards are for genuine public discussion, not for specific opinions.
- Fraudulent claims — including fabricated posts, posts deleted after claiming, or spam — may result in claim rejection, forfeiture of pending rewards, or account restrictions.
Disclosure requirement:
Receiving a reward for mentioning Callipso constitutes a material connection under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC). By participating in the Mention & Earn program, you agree to clearly and conspicuously disclose that you received a benefit from Callipso in any post for which you claim a reward. A suitable disclosure is provided in the application for your convenience (e.g., "I received a small Callipso credit for this mention"). Callipso may reject claims where the associated post lacks appropriate disclosure.
12. Third-Party Components
The Callipso software incorporates open-source libraries and third-party components, each governed by their own respective licenses. These licenses are included with the software and can be viewed in the application's "About" section or in the accompanying THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES file distributed with the application.
Nothing in these Terms restricts, limits, or otherwise affects any rights or obligations you may have under those open-source licenses, or any rights or obligations the licensor may have under those open-source licenses, with respect to the open-source components contained in the software.
Callipso integrates with third-party IDEs and terminal emulators (VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, iTerm2, Warp, Claude Desktop). These products are developed and maintained by their respective companies and are subject to their own terms of service. Callipso is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for these third-party products.
13. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
Summary of key privacy commitments:
- No voice audio is recorded or transmitted. The built-in Parakeet STT engine processes audio entirely on your local machine using the Apple Neural Engine. Audio never leaves your device.
- No terminal output is captured. Callipso routes text to terminals but does not read, store, or transmit terminal output.
- No source code is accessed. Callipso never reads, stores, or transmits any of your source code files.
- Analytics are opt-out. Anonymous usage analytics (feature usage, crash reports) are collected via PostHog. You can disable analytics at any time in Settings.
- No clipboard contents are stored. Clipboard text is read for routing purposes and is not persisted or transmitted.
14. Refunds
14.1 14-Day Right of Withdrawal
All purchases are subject to a 14-day right of withdrawal as described in Section 6.2, in compliance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive. To request a refund within this period, contact support@callipso.dev.
14.2 Monthly Subscriptions
After the 14-day withdrawal period, monthly subscription payments are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges, and your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
14.3 Annual Subscriptions
After the 14-day withdrawal period, a prorated refund for unused months of an annual subscription may be issued at Callipso's discretion. Refund requests should be sent to support@callipso.dev with your account details and reason for the request.
14.4 Lifetime Licenses
Lifetime licenses are non-refundable after the 14-day withdrawal period. This is due to the nature of the product: a one-time payment grants perpetual access to all current and future Pro features.
15. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Callipso, its developer, and its affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:
- Your use of the Service, including any commands routed through the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Any claim that your Submissions infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent that claims arise from Callipso's own negligence or willful misconduct, or to the extent that such indemnification is prohibited by applicable law (including mandatory EU consumer protection provisions).
16. Termination
16.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. You may uninstall the software at any time.
16.2 Termination by Callipso
Callipso may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. Where reasonably practicable, Callipso will provide notice and an opportunity to cure the violation before termination. In cases of severe violations (including fraud, license key abuse, or illegal activity), termination may be immediate without prior notice.
16.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your license:
- Your license key is revoked and Pro features are disabled.
- You must cease all use of the software and uninstall it from all devices.
- Your account data is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
- Sections 3.2 (License, Not Sale), 4 (License Restrictions), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Intellectual Property), 11.2 (IP Assignment), 15 (Indemnification), and 17 (Governing Law) survive termination.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in France.
If you are a consumer within the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.
In accordance with EU Regulation 524/2013, consumers within the EU may also submit disputes to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
18. No Cryptocurrency Affiliation
Callipso has no token, no cryptocurrency, and no blockchain component. Any use of the Callipso name, logo, or branding in connection with a cryptocurrency, token, NFT, or digital asset is unauthorized and will be pursued as trademark infringement under applicable law. Callipso does not accept cryptocurrency as payment.
19. General Provisions
19.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Callipso regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
19.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
19.3 Waiver
The failure of Callipso to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Callipso.
19.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of Callipso. Callipso may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
19.5 Force Majeure
Callipso shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet disruptions, or third-party service outages.
19.6 Export Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export control laws and regulations. You may not download or use the software if you are located in a country subject to a comprehensive EU or US embargo, or if you are on any EU or US sanctions list.
20. Changes to Terms
Callipso reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made:
- You will be notified at least 30 days in advance of the changes taking effect, via email or an in-app notification.
- The updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
- Continued use of the Service after the 30-day notice period constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
- If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription before the changes take effect.
